Having problems in your relationship? You must keep in mind that all relationships go through rough times. Many couples can work through their problems and create a stronger and happier relationship. The following will help you to resolve your problems.

Listening and Understanding Each Other
You need to really listen to what your partner says. Keep silent when they are talking and try to understand exactly what it is they are saying. If you don’t completely understand, wait until they are done talking, and then ask questions and discuss it until you do understand. This is a really big problem in relationships – people do not really listen which causes misunderstandings.

You Must Maintain A Positive Attitude
When you are trying to resolve issues, you should begin with a positive attitude. Remember the great times you had together and how you might get back to that point. Set aside all negative thoughts and only think positively about working out your problems.

Both Partners Have To Be Involved
Both partners must be involved in repairing the relationship. It can not be a one sided effort. You both must be committed to resolving the problems. If only one of you is willing to work at it, it will not happen.

Always Stay Calm
Although you are upset about the circumstances, you must remember that staying calm will accomplish more than being hostile or angry. If you feel the anger creeping up, take a few deep breaths. Don’t scream and don’t blurt out angry words before you think about them.

Give Each Other Some Space To Think
You both need to take some time alone to think over the situation and decide what your true feelings are. Many times, this will give you a new perspective on the relationship. Stepping back from the situation allows you to miss your partner and possibly discover some new solutions to your problems.

Remember, your relationship is not over until you both have tried everything possible to rescue it. If you both work at it and use these strategies, you can save your relationship and make it stronger than ever. Sometimes a relationship stalls and one feels the need to break up, but if you both work at resolving the issues, they can usually be overcome.

The below book “The Magic of Making Up” is an excellent book filled with great information to help repair relationships. Click on the book cover to read more about it.
